City Officials: Logistical Issues Unraveled Keney Park Horse Show

Its fliers made big promises.

"World class show jumping." A pool of "some of the top equestrians from all along the East Coast, eastern Midwest states, and eastern Canada." Some of those advertisements still hang in businesses throughout the North End. A few made it up to Bloomfield.

The Connecticut Classic Horse Show, scheduled for Sept. 15 to 18, was billed as a historic event when it was announced at a city hall news conference in November by Patricia Kelly, founder of the Ebony Horsewomen program. It was a charitable event, one meant to benefit both the Horsewomen and Camp Courant, two nonprofits dedicated to helping the city's young people.
