Middletown Board Delays Action On Officer's Disability Pension Request

MIDDLETOWN — The city's pension board has delayed action for a second time on a request from a fired former police officer to receive a disability retirement.

Former Officer Christopher Lavoie worked for the department for 16 years before he was terminated in February after the city said he violated the terms of a "last chance" agreement he signed in 2013.

He has said he filed a request for a disability pension because of on-duty back injuries he sustained over several years.
