The Blackhawks' Stanley Cup win drew a congratulatory call from President Barack Obama to team officials and a resolution introduced in the U.S. Senate on Wednesday.
The White House announced that Obama put a call in to three pillars of the team: coach Joel Quenneville, owner Rocky Wirtz and team captain Jonathan Toews.
He congratulated them for capturing the Cup, commended their leadership and acknowledged the entire team's efforts on the third Hawks championship in six years, the announcement said.
Obama "looks forward to welcoming the team back to the White House to celebrate their victory," it said.
