Our say: City has an opportunity on Compromise St.

With the fate of the old recreation center apparently sealed, we're hoping this fall will see city officials resolve another long-standing problem: the unsightly, prominently located, long-vacant building at 110 Compromise St. that once housed Fawcett Boat Supplies. We don't have to tell Mayor Mike Pantelides and other city officials this one needs careful handling. Anger over the ambitious redevelopment plan embraced by Mayor Josh Cohen helped make him a one-termer. Yet Pantelides can't let a whole four-year term elapse with no progress on the cinder-block eyesore marring City Dock. Things are starting to move, however. And city officials ought to help them keep moving....
