U.S. Education Secretary Betsy DeVos appeared before the House Education and the Workforce Committee Tuesday and Rep. Joe Courtney had some pointed questions for her.
Specifically, Courtney, a Democrat who represents Connecticut’s 2nd Congressional District, wanted to know why DeVos continues to tell the story of an East Hartford student who described the local high school as "a dangerous day care."
Courtney, a member of the committee, noted that the anecdote DeVos relayed is 17 years old. The school has made great strides since then, he said.
