New Britain Lawmaker Leads Polish Day Celebration

NEW BRITAIN - State Rep. Peter Tercyak, D-New Britain, is scheduled to lead lawmakers in celebrating Polish Day on May 4 at 11 a.m. in Hartford.

The ceremony will be held in the north lobby of the state Capitol. It marks the 225th anniversary of Poland's constitution, and is the 25th annual celebration at the Capitol.

Urszula Gacek, the U.S. consulate general of the Republic of Poland, is scheduled as the keynote speaker. House Speaker Brendan Sharkey, Majority Leader Joe Aresimowicz, Secretary of the State Denise Merrill, Comptroller Kevin Lembo, U.S. Rep. Joseph Courtney and Senator Christopher Murphy are all scheduled as speakers.
