Registrars Validate Signatures, Clear Way For Segarra Vs. Bronin Primary

HARTFORD — Hartford's Democratic mayoral primary will be a two-way race.

A slate of candidates led by incumbent Mayor Pedro Segarra has submitted the number of valid signatures necessary to qualify for a spot on the Sept. 16 primary ballot, the registrars of voters' office has determined. Segarra was forced to collect signatures after challenger Luke Bronin won the party's mayoral endorsement in July.

Segarra's slate includes city council candidates Kyle Anderson, Edward Casares Jr., Giselle Feliciano, Kenneth Kennedy Jr., Luwannia Johnson-Martin and James Woulfe. Kennedy and Anderson are incumbents and Casares is a former city fire chief.
