Former state Sen. Eric D. Coleman returned Monday to testify in front of a key legislative committee that he once headed — as a nominee to the Superior Court.
Coleman, who served more than 30 years in the legislature, previously served as co-chairman of the judiciary committee — and his colleagues warmly welcomed him back.
As the father of eight foster children, Coleman discussed his life experiences that brought him to the bench. The son of a machinist, Coleman was only 13 years old when his father died. His mother made many sacrifices for the family and helped him get to where he is, he said.
