Ted Kennedy Jr. Won't Seek Re-Election To State Senate

Ted Kennedy Jr., who has shied away from comparisons to his famous father and talk of his family’s mystique, won’t run for re-election to the state Senate.

It’s a surprise move for the Branford Democrat who many on the left viewed as a rising star in the state party, so much that Kennedy mused over a run for governor for several months last year before ruling it out.

Kennedy, 56, wants to spend more time in his role as chairman of the American Association of People with Disabilities. The advocacy group tapped Kennedy for the leadership post last June.
