Malloy, Lockheed Martin Reach Deal To Keep Sikorsky HQ In Connecticut

Connecticut and Lockheed Martin Corp. announced Tuesday a deal providing up to $220 million in state aid in exchange for keeping and possibly increasing jobs at helicopter manufacturer Sikorsky Aircraft and committing to remain in the state for more than a decade.

The Bethesda, Md.-based company agreed to build 200 CH-53K King Stallion heavy-lift helicopters in Connecticut for the U.S. Navy until at least 2032. It agreed to keep Sikorsky headquarters in the state and maintain Connecticut as a primary production facility for its government-based helicopter business.
