For the most important result of Tuesday's elections, look not to Virginia or Glastonbury or even Hoboken, birthplace of Sinatra, where voters elected a Sikh (and therefore turban-wearing) mayor.
Look instead to Maine, where a ballot initiative expanded Medicaid access under the Affordable Care Act to an approximate 89,000 people. Gov. Paul LePage — he was crackpot before crackpot was cool — had vetoed five different bills that would have done the same thing. The initiative didn't just pass. It passed by 18 friggin' points.
