CT Domestic Violence Laws

HARTFORD — On Feb. 23, State Rep. Gary Byron (R-Newington) along with a bipartisan group of legislators and the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence (CCADV) called on Connecticut to change its existing family violence law. The proposal raises a concept in the Judiciary Committee would add a 'dominant aggressive' provision to law in an effort to reduce Connecticut intimate partner violence dual arrest rate which currently stands out more than twice the national average.
