BOYNE CITY -- The Harbor Springs boys and Sault Ste. Marie girls were victorious Saturday at the Boyne Track and Field Invitational at Boyne City High School's Earl Brotherston Field.
The Harbor boys won three events and collected 123 points to outdistance runner-up Charlevoix, which finished with 109. Cheboygan was third with 107.
Harbor's victories in the boys' meet came from Jay Lechner in the discus, 149 feet, 4 inches; Patrick Frank, 400-meter dash, 53.54 seconds; and Ben Kloss in the 1,600, 4:42.52.
Charlevoix captured the shot put relay, the 800 relay and the 3,200 relay, while the Rayders' Jackson Buday won the 3,200 in 10:46.45.
Boyne City's Tevin Larmond was a double winner as he took the 100, 11.43 seconds; and the 200, 22.88; while teammate Dean Hague won the 300 hurdles in 42.62.
Meser won the 200, the 400 and 100 hurdles to lead Sault Ste. Marie to victory in the girls' meet. The Blue Devils also captured the shot put relay, along with the 400, 800 and 1,600 relays.
Kristin Albert, Jenna Lechowicz and Maddie Buntin were individual winners for Harbor Springs.
Buntin won the 1,600 in 5:43.23; Albert was first in the high jump at 4-10; and Lechowicz placed first in the pole vault at 7-6.
Charlevoix's Molly Jeakle won the 800 in 2:23.85; Boyne City's Erica Westbrook captured the 3,200 in 12:22.41; and Boyne's Kylie Hicks won the 300 hurdles in 47.59.
