A daughter, Aria Kristine Kilmer, was born to David and Ashley Kilmer of Boyne Falls July 4, 2011, at Charlevoix Area Hospital. Aria weighed 8 pounds at birth. Grandparents are Bernie Kilmer of Alanson, Kelly and Jim LaCount of Petoskey, and Debbie and Robert Lee Archer of Petoskey. Great-grandparents are Erma Fettig of Petoskey, Evelyn Kilmer of Petoskey, Cleo Olsen of Petoskey and Thelma Olsen of Petoskey.

The Community Free Clinic offers free, temporary, health care services to Emmet County residents who are low-income, without health insurance and are not included in a government health program. The clinic is staffed by volunteers. There is an appointment clinic on Monday afternoons for those who work on Wednesday evenings. For all other patients there is a walk-in clinic on Wednesday evenings with sign-in from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Patients are seen in order of sign-in which means there may be a wait.
