Marjorie Jeanette Lockey Kerton, 86, of Carp Lake, died Sept. 27, 2012, at the Vital Care Hospice House in Cheboygan.
Marjorie was born on March 14, 1926, in Fowler, Ind., the daughter of Leonard and Agnes (Beck) Brower and was raised in Royal Oak, Mich., graduating from Royal Oak High School.
Marjorie enjoyed golfing, quilting, sewing and traveling.
She is survived by her husband, Ross Kerton; two sons, Gregory S. (Sandra) Lockey of Las Vegas, Nev., and Douglas L. (Tina) Lockey of Lake St. Louis, Mo.; daughter-in-law, Linda Lockey of Oviedo, Fla.; stepson, Robert (Maureen) Kerton of Petoskey; nine grandchildren, David Lockey of McKinney, Texas, Susie Brown of Orlando, Fla., Debbie Conley of Palm City, Fla., Deanna Lockey of Royal Oak, Mich., Janet McKay of Florence S.C., Michael Lockey of Long Beach, Miss., Erin Henry of O'Fallon, Mo., and Mark Lockey of Flint Hill, Mo.; two stepgrandchildren, Johnathon (Tracey) Kerton and Elizabeth Kerton; a brother, Robert (Myra) Brower of Greer, S.C.; two nephews, David Brower of Virginia and Timothy Brower of South Carolina; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-stepgranddaughter.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents and by a son, Randall D. Lockey.
Funeral services celebrating Marjorie's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2, at the Stone Funeral Home in Petoskey. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 1. Burial will be in the Carp Lake Cemetery.
