Lillian H. Carr, 88, of Charlevoix, died Saturday, July 9, 2011, at her home.
She was born Nov. 6, 1922, in Bloomington, Idaho, the daughter of Alfred and Sarah (Patterson) Hart. Lillian graduated from Fielding High School in Paris, Idaho, in 1940, and from the Latter Day Saints Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1941.
Ohio, Barryton, Vanderbilt, and Lake City, before moving to Charlevoix in 1966, where Lillian worked as the secretary to the superintendent of Charlevoix Public Schools for 18 years, retiring in 1984.
Lillian was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and of the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel.
Lillian is survived by her children, Dennis H. (Connie) Carr of Charlevoix, Diana (Steve) Weisgerber of Tustin, Nancy (Mazen Sayed) Foltz of Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, Elaine (Robert) Rydze of Iowa City, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Norma Anderson of San Lorenzo, Calif.; brother, Dr. Douglas (Bonnie) Hart of Logan, Utah. Lillian's husband, Raymond, preceded her in death on May 12, 1999. She was also preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30, at the Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix, where friends may meet Lillian's family from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will take place in Brookside Cemetery in Charlevoix.
