All these things could happen to you in one night, in front of a live audience.
A comedy hypnosis show will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at the Boyne City High School Performing Arts Center.
Hypnotist Joe Gelina will hypnotize will ask for volunteers from the audience to be hypnotized.
"I received a flyer in the mail at school and it peaked my interest," explained Mary Johnson, the school's yearbook advisor and organizer of the event.
"I did a little searching and saw he's done it at other schools and was in Charlevoix a few months ago and had great reviews. I found some of his videos on YouTube and they just looked hilarious."
Gelina is a certified hypnotist and has worked with thousands of clients. His comedy hypnosis shows have entertained groups at school fundraisers, graduation parties and prom parties.
He combines the fun of total audience participation with the abilities of the mind.
"He will take volunteers from the audience and ask them a couple questions to see whether or not they are good candidates to be hypnotized," Johnson explained.
A local teacher and community member have already agreed to be hypnotized.
"He will tell them things like, 'You're belly button is missing' and you'll have this whole group of people up on stage looking in their pockets, asking their friends if they took their belly button, looking for it under their chair."
"In another situation, they think he is their favorite movie star," Johnson continued. "It's very funny because you have all these people thinking he is someone else. I saw it where one high school boy thought he was Kim Kardashian and was kind of hitting on him."
Gelina is sure to stop the participants before it gets too embarrassing.
"Another one, he told them they lost their butts and they all kept falling off their chairs," Johnson said.
The event is suitable for all ages.
Money raised from the event will go to Boyne City's visual imaging class and yearbook.
Advance tickets are $6 for students, $8 for adults and are available at Local Flavor Bookstore, Boyne City High School and the Boyne Area Chamber of Commerce. Tickets will also be available the door, but will be $2 more.
