Birth announcements (April 9, 2013)
A daughter, Avery Mae, was born to Keith and Sarah Nowak of Petoskey at 8:22 a.m. on Friday, April 5, 2013, at McLaren Northern Michigan hospital in Petoskey. Avery weighed 7 pounds, .08 ounce and was 18 1/2 inches long at birth. Her sibling is Ainsley, age 18 months. Grandparents are Mike and Amy Jo Terry of Muskegon, and Dave and Laura Nowak of Alpena.
A daughter, Anakin Jace Cooper, was born to Alfonso and Stephanie Cooper of Mancelona at 7:18 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2013, at McLaren Northern Michigan hospital in Petoskey. Anakin weighed 6 pounds, 10 ounces and was 18 3/4 inches long at birth. She has a brother, Alfonso Jerel Cooper II. Grandparents are Willie and Charlene Cooper of Mancelona, and John and Cheryl Horvath of Wolverine.
Char-Em United Way is holding its annual Instant Wine Cellar fundraiser. Its at the Perry Hotel in Petoskey and help is needed from volunteers like you to make this event as amazing as last year. The Gold Mine Resale Shop of the Womens Resource Center has two Petoskey locations, 1002 Emmet St. and 1878 U.S. 31 North.Both stores accept donations of gently used furniture, household items and clothing and are open from 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
