The Wawatam Area Senior Center hours for congregate meals are 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; 1 p.m. Sunday. The center is open every day at noon and is located on Cedar Street in Mackinaw City.
Friendship Centers of Emmet County, Council on Aging, will present its 'Tis the Season annual meeting and luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13, at the Petoskey Friendship Center. Entertainment includes a holiday program of songs by students from Harbor Light Christian School and a sing-a-long with the Friendship Center Chorus prior to lunch. Students from Harbor Light Christian School will also serve lunch to the guests. A financial review for fiscal year 2012 will be provided by Ted Teller, CPA, of the accounting firm Rasmussen, Teller, O'Neil & Christman. Lunch is available on a donation basis for seniors age 60 and over and spouses. This year the menu includes Cornish game hen, oven roasted red skin potatoes, vegetables and holiday dessert. Seating for the luncheon is limited and tickets are required. Tickets can be obtained at the Petoskey Friendship Center or by calling (231) 347-3211 or (888) 347-0369.
