ALANSON — The Alanson Church of the Nazarene opens its food pantry/soup kitchen and clothing bank for those in need from 4-5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. Bible study groups for all ages meets at 6:30 p.m., and a small group meets 5:30 p.m. Thursdays. Sunday school classes begin at 9:45 a.m. for all ages, with Sunday worship at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David Brantley giving the message.

ALANSON — “Responding to God’s Love” is pastor Mary Sweet’s message for Sunday, March 18, at the Alanson United Methodist Church. Services begin at 9 a.m. with children’s Sunday school taking place during the worship hour. The chancel choir will be singing “Here, O My Lord, I See Thee Face to Face” under the directorship of Marion Kuebler accompanying on organ and piano. One Great Hour of Sharing offering will be taken for administrative costs of the United Methodist Committee on Relief. BOYNE CITY — Pastor Wayne McKenney will continue his Lenten sermon series on the last 24 hours of Jesus’ life at the 11 a.m. worship service on Sunday, March 18, at the Boyne City United Methodist Church. Sunday school and a nursery are available during the service. The weekly Bible study meets at 10 a.m. Thursdays. Each Wednesday evening during Lent, the church is hosting a free soup supper and missions program at 6 p.m. in the church fellowship area.
