Jim said I would be impressed by the Audi A6's navigation system. Blown away would be a better description after seeing actual photos of the route I was driving.
There is little about this new A6 that I didn't like. The car is a delight. The interior is exceptionally nice – it really impressed our two passengers – and the ride is firm, but still very comfortable.
The instruments are clear and basic controls are easy to work. However, I wouldn't know where to start with the one-knob central control for the audio, navigation and communications systems. Fortunately, the heater and air conditioner have their own controls, though they are mounted very low. One final complaint: The front seat bottom cushion is a little long for a shorter driver.
Highway driving in this car is exceptionally easy and the fuel economy is surprisingly good. We did just over 30 miles per gallon on the highway. This fell to an average of 24.6 miles per gallon when our around-town drives were mixed in. Audi calls for premium gasoline.
