Mazda5

I’ll admit I’m spoiled.

I got into the Mazda5 and immediately noticed what it didn’t have. No rearview camera. No push to start button. I actually had to twist the key!

Okay, I wasn’t dazzled immediately. But I did grow to like the Mazda5 a lot. It drives very, very nicely. It’s also comfortable enough for a daylong drive and, if on that drive, you happen to get into congested traffic, the Mazda5’s small size makes maneuvering easy.

The seating position helps in all kinds of traffic. It’s a little higher up than in a sedan. Still, the Mazda5 isn’t so high as to feel “tippy” in turns. The outside mirrors also give a good view of what is behind and beside you in traffic.

Regardless of where you are going, the Mazda5 feels sporty. It’s definitely not what I expected when I first looked at the car. The roomy and flexible interior was also unexpected.
