DiNovo, called "shotgun Pete" by his friends, is shown in the video practicing accuracy drills. He is one of four quarterbacks, including sophomore Justin Holman, redshirt sophomore Nick Patti and freshman Tyler Harris, being considered to replace Blake Bortles.
Coaches originally planned to have a quarterback named by the end of spring football, but changed course when no one quarterback separated himself. O'Leary said he won't wait long to name someone after preseason training starts.
DiNovo completed 10-of-20 passes for 117 yards with one touchdown and one interception during the spring game April 12 at Bright House Networks Stadium. Holman completed 18-of-31 passes for 165 yards with zero touchdowns and interceptions.
