Mom, cousin of 'The Rock' hurt in Lake County crash

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson tweeted this picture of a crash involving his mother and cousin.

The mother and cousin of wrestler and actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson were injured in a Clermont traffic crash recently.

Johnson tweeted on Sunday that his mother, Ata Johnson, and cousin Lina Fanene were struck head-on by a drunk driver.

The crash happened in Clermont at about 9:35 p.m. on Aug. 2, according to Clermont police. A driver fleeing police ran a red light and hit the women's car on Highway 27 near Hooks Street, police said.

Fanene tweeted a picture of Johnson visiting her in the hospital. According to wrestlinginc.com, she is a "Diva trainee at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando."

Fanene posted on Instagram that the women are expected to recover.

"Everything happens for a reason," she wrote. "Not sure why the very intoxicated woman decided to drive her car, head first, into our car...but I do know that we are extremely lucky to be alive and that everything we have is fixable."

The women were reportedly driving home from a charity event in Minneola when they were hit.

The driver's name has not been released, but she is facing DUI and related charges, according to Clermont police.

Johnson has branched out from his wrestling career to star in films including the "Fast & Furious" and "G.I. Joe" franchises.

He is the grandson of wrestler Peter Maivia, and the son of wrestler Rocky Johnson.
