SunRail trains delayed after leaking cooler left at station

SunRail's morning service was delayed today, after a leaking cooler was found at one of the Orlando stations and authorities were called to investigate, the Florida Department of Transportation said.

According to FDOT spokesman Steve Olson, the cooler was found about 7:15 a.m. at the Orlando Health/Amtrak station on Columbia Street in Orlando.

"The cooler was leaking, it had an unusual smell and it caused some concerns," Olson said.

Police and fire personnel were called to investigate, Olson said, delaying train service, particularly southbound.

As of about 7:45 a.m., the cooler had been cleared and trains were running again, Olson said: "We're probably about 20 minutes or so behind right now," he said, adding that delays should lessen as the day goes on.
