Truffles Grill, a small eatery known for offering a variety of Southern indulgences at moderate prices, has closed in Winter Park Village. A call to the restaurant Monday morning confirmed that the last day of service was Sunday.
In January, The Orlando Sentinel reported that parent company Ruby Tuesday was selling its two Truffles Grill restaurants, including one in Winter Park Village.
Maryville, Tenn.-based Ruby Tuesday opened its first Truffles upscale cafe two years ago in Atlanta. In 2011, it opened the second in Winter Park.
To open Truffles restaurants, Ruby Tuesday had entered into a licensing agreement with a company owned by the brother of its then-chief executive officer Sandy Beall. Independently of Ruby Tuesday, Truffles has several restaurants in the Hilton Head Island, S.C. area.
Beall left the company last year. He has been replaced by J.J. Buettgen, formerly Orlando-based Darden Restaurants' chief marketing officer.
