Trevor Knight’s up-and-down freshman season at Oklahoma was capped off with a solid performance in a stunning upset of Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. That game earned him a spot in our sophomores to watch this upcoming college football season.

Trevor Knight, QB, Oklahoma

The Buzz: Knight shared time with Blake Bell at quarterback last season, appearing in just eight games in 2013. He was just the fourth freshman to start a season-opener in Oklahoma Sooners history. While he only accumulated more than 1,200 yards of total offense last season, it was Knight’s performance in the Sugar Bowl that propelled him into the starting role in 2014. In that 45-31 win over Alabama, the freshman was 32-of-44 for 348 yards and four touchdowns. His place in the starting lineup was cemented after Bell announced he was moving over to the tight end position. All eyes will be on Knight as Oklahoma is the favorite to win the Big 12 title and compete for a possible spot in the new College Football Playoff.
