Wednesday will be a night of gatherings, joyous, contentious or both. A few highlights:
The beloved female stars of "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" reunite on "Hot in Cleveland" at 10 p.m. on TV Land. Valerie Harper, Cloris Leachman and Mary Tyler Moore play old bowling buddies of Betty White and Georgia Engel in the episode. Jesse Tyler Ferguson ("Modern Family") and George Hamilton also guest star. A second "Hot in Cleveland" follows at 10:30. Craig Ferguson and Alan Dale guest star in that one.
"Big Brother" fans will learn if the nasty Amanda could finally be ejected on the CBS reality series at 8. McCrae, her boyfriend on the show, is other candidate for eviction. With Amanda getting desperate, it could be a very tumultuous hour. The show will offer a double ejection at 9 p.m. Thursday.
The six-part "Earthflight" starts its run at 8 p.m. on PBS' "Nature." The documentary celebrates birds through glorious photography, compelling storytelling and nifty techniques that give the sense of flying.
BBC America is presenting a four-part "Luther" miniseries through Friday. Three out of four nights, "Luther" airs at 10 p.m. But it shifts to 9 p.m. Wednesday, because the miniseries "Broadchurch" airs at 10. And "Broadchurch" is one of the best dramas this summer. Make no mistake: "Luther," starring Idris Elba, is adult material, and it's not meant for the squeamish. You could have nightmares for weeks.
"America's Got Talent" announces the latest results at 9 p.m. on NBC. Rock band Fall Out Boy delviers the hit "My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)." Season six finalist iLuminate also performs.
