Young Orlando linebacker prospects Riley Nicholson (2015), a recent transfer to Kissimmee Osceola, and Jonathan Pollock (2016), a summer transfer to Orlando Dr. Phillips, will be on hand for Dawg Night 'between the hedges' tonight at Georgia's Sanford Stadium in Athens.
Meanwhile, across the Peach Tree State in Atlanta, fellow linebacker Jimmy Martin (2015) of Orlando Orangewood Christian will be taking in the Georgia Tech edition.
Nicholson led Harmony in tackles last season as a freshman and also saw time at running back, as did Martin as a freshman at Orangewood. Both players played in the Eastbay Youth All-American Bowl in conjunction with the 2011 Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio as eighth-graders.
Martin and Nicholson also both earned mention on the Maxpreps 2012 Freshman All-America Team.
Pollock started at cornerback for Orlando's Windermere Prep last season, but will move to linebacker at Dr. Phillips. He recently represented
In January, Pollock started at middle linebacker and was named team captain for the East squad in the inaugural 2012 Junior Rank Semper Fidelis Youth All-American Game.
He recently earned mention on the MaxPreps Class of 2016 Top Watch List and was awarded a National Leadership Grant sponsored by NCSA Athletic Recruiting and the NFLPA. The Leadership Grant, according to the NCSA website, is awarded to student athletes who qualify based on leadership in their community, academic achievement, athletics and a required essay written by the student athlete.
Other Florida underclassmen expected to be on hand from the Class of 2014 — RB Jonathan Vickers (6-0, 205) of Tallahassee North Florida Christian, QB D.J. Gillins (6-3, 185) of Jacksonville Eagle's View Academy. From 2015 — LB Jeremiah Theus (6-3, 210), the brother of 2012 Georgia commit John Theus, from Jacksonville Bolles.
