IMG Academy in Bradenton has confirmed the enrollment of Alabama prep star Bo Scarbrough into its program. Scarbrough, the No. 5-ranked athlete in the country according to 247sports.com and he is committed to Alabama. He can play runing back, linebacker, safety or tight end.
Scarbrough could possibly still be open in his recruiting process and he visited both the Florida and Florida State campuses this past month. His cousin, C'yontai Lewis is a tight end commitment to Florida and Lewis has said he will pursue the recruitment of his cousin as a potential Gator.

IMG Academy has announced that University of Alabama commit Bo Scarbrough has enrolled. The 6-foot-2, 236-pounder will be utilized in multiple roles on both sides of the ball throughout the 2013 season. Scarbrough is ranked as: the No. 20 overall prospect in the nation and No. 2 at his position by ESPN Recruiting Nation; No. 21 overall and No. 1 at his position by Rivals.com; and No. 39 overall and No. 4 at his position by 247Sports.com. Scarbrough is also set to compete in the 2014 Under Armour All-American game, to be held in St. Petersburg, Fla. in January.
On his decision to attend IMG Academy, Scarbrough remarked, “Coach Weinke is a great coach, and IMG Academy offers me everything I could ever need to get ready for college, and focus on football and academics equally. The facilities, the school programs - it’s just a great fit for me to finish my high school career.”
Scarbrough, a native of Eutaw, Ala. relocated to Tuscaloosa, Ala. five years ago, where he emerged as the No. 4 player on the AL.com A-List for the Class of 2014 as a member of Northridge High School. Scarbrough committed to the Crimson Tide in September 2012 after leading his team to victory over rival Hillcrest High School behind his 164 yards on 26 carries. The year prior, he led Northridge to eight straight wins and a playoff berth in Alabama Class 6A playoffs, and led the team with more than 900 yards rushing.
“Bo is a competitor, a hard worker and a quality young man with great character, in addition to being an outstanding player,” said Chris Weinke, Head Coach and Director of Football, IMG Academy. “He has the ability and makeup to be as good as he wants to be at the college level at just about any position.”
Scarbrough joins other top student-athletes at IMG Academy on the inaugural roster, including QB Michael O’Connor (Senior/Ottawa, Ontario, Canada), a Penn State commit and consensus four-star ranked player; CB Matthew Boateng (Senior/Toronto, Ontario, Canada), who carries multiple Division-I offers from the likes of Kansas and Marshall; and OL Tyree St. Louis (Junior/Tampa, Fla.) who boasts offers from the likes of Tennessee, Louisville and Kentucky. The IMG Academy football team will take the field for the first time at the Kickoff Classic against Palm Beach Lakes Community High School on Aug. 24 at 7:30 P.M. under the lights of the new IMG Academy stadium.
