Former Lake Howell pitcher Autumn Hanners led the College of Central Florida in Ocala to the championship round of the National Junior College Athletic Association’s D-I nationals before the Patriots lost 8-5 to Angelina (Texas) Saturday in St. George, Utah.

Hanners, a freshman at CCF, won three games in the tournament, allowing just one earned run in her first 26 innings before suffering the loss in the final.

She was named to the all-tournament team as a pitcher. She also was named first team in the Mid-Florida Conference and was second-team all-state.

Hanners, who also played first base for the Patriots, had 15 doubles, 10 home runs and 47 RBIs for a .326 batting average. She also had an 8-5 record in 126 innings pitched and 81 strikeouts and a 1.56 ERA.
