Two former area standouts, Brett Comer of Winter Park and Kendrick Perry of Edgewater, are on the MidMajorMadness.com top 10 list of college basketball Mid-Major point guards to watch in 2013-14.
Comer led the Atlantic Sun Conference in assists with 6.6 per game and gained acclaim as a 6-foot-3 sophomore who fed Florida Gulf Coast’s run to the Sweet 16. He averaged 10.3 assists in the NCAA Tournament.
Perry lacks that national notoriety, but he averaged 17 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.1 assists and a Horizon League-leading 1.9 steals for Youngstown State. He also won that school’s Male Student-Athlete of the Year honor.
