A Thursday night Southeastern Conference double-header will kick off an early slate of college football games on ESPN and its network partner, ABC.

North Carolina travels to Columbia, South Carolina to take on Steve Spurrier’s Gamecocks on Thursday, Aug. 29 at 6 p.m. ET.  

In the nightcap, Hugh Freeze and Ole Miss travel to Nashville to take on Vanderbilt at 9:15 p.m. ET on ESPN.

On Saturday, Alabama goes for a BCS three-peat when it kicks off the season against Virginia Tech in the Chick-fil A Kickoff Game in Atlanta at 5:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. That game will be followed by the Cowboys Classic, which features a match-up between TCU and LSU at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington at 9 p.m. on ESPN.

Over on ABC, Aaron Murray and the Georgia Bulldogs travel to Clemson to take on the Tigers high-powered offense led by quarterback Tajh Boyd in a primetime match-up at 8 p.m. on ABC.

The SEC was occupy Thursday night again when Kentucky and first-year head coach Mark Stoops travel to Starkville, Miss., to take on Mississippi State on Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN.
