Pink zebra-stripe Duck Tape (Duck Tape / April 2, 2013)
My daughter loves Duck Tape, and it has become her favorite go-to craft item. She even brought several rolls (and a pair of scissors) with her on our Spring Break road trip. From the back seat, she fashioned a small purse and a hair bow for her teddy bear.
What's the interest in this tape? When I asked her, she said I should interview her, so I did.
Why do you like it?: Because it’s not ordinary Duck Tape. It’s colorful Duck Tape. Ordinary Duck Tape is just plain and boring. (My Duck Tape) it’s pretty ..it has cool designs on it. It’s so stylish. And you can make anything out of it.
What can you make? Bags, purses, you could even make dresses, shoes, bows, and sometimes rings.
Have you ever made a dress? I think I’m going to make a dress. I'll see if there's a dress I don’t like in my closet and cover it up with Duck Tape because that would look pretty...Duck Tape shoes would be pretty. There’s pictures on Google about Duck Tape shoes. It’s pretty neat.
Do you think they’d be comfortable? Yes.
What’s the favorite thing you’ve made so far? The BFF bag I made with Emma…because it was with my BFF.
How do you make a duck tape bag? It’s a secret. No I’m not going to share.
Can I tell people it starts with a Ziploc bag? Yeah.
Do you have a favorite kind of Duck Tape? I think the zebra stripe
What’s your current project? Kind of like a Polly Pocket house.
When we were done with our interview, my 8-year-old noted that she might need more tape soon because her current project had used up several rolls and now she has "only" nine left.
Which seems like quite a lot of rolls but, hey, probably not if you're planning to make a dress, shoes and bags for everyone you know.
