Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte's reality show won't debut until April 21 on E!
But Anderson Cooper blasts the show Wednesday on his daytime talk show "Anderson Live." It airs at 3 p.m. weekdays on WRBW-Channel 65.
"I've found the most ridiculous TV show on E!," Cooper says. "They have a reality show following Ryan Lochte, the Olympic swimmer. The ridiculous thing it's called 'What Would Ryan Lochte Do?' and the cameras just follow him around and he basically seems like a perfectly nice guy, but he basically seems like a dude, like a bro. He does this, it's like a Hawaiian thing, like a surfer thing. He's a bro, a dude. He has this saying like, jeah, it's annoying and it's on his license plate which makes it doubly annoying to me…The whole show seems to be just following him around as he drinks and tries to pick up women."
After viewing a clip, Cooper adds, "Can I get 20 seconds of my life back?"
Cooper says that Lochte "seems like a perfectly nice guy" and wishes him success.
"I wish him nothing but the best, but it's just sort of funny that at that age to want cameras to follow you around, to watch you pick women up when you're drunk," Cooper says. "His coach should be like, 'Back in the pool. A little less talking, a little more swimming.' "
