Motörhead roar into the House of Blues

Motörhead's venerable frontman Lemmy (pictured) is to rock 'n' roll what Batman is to crime-fighting: If you're not him, you'll never be as good at it. And it's not just the sound but the lifestyle of rock that the gravelly singer embodies. The British icon only stopped drinking a bottle of Jack Daniel's every day two years ago after nearly 40 years of habit. He had a legendary relationship with amphetamines and was ranked No. 8 on Maxim's Top 10 Living Sex Legends. Now in his 69th year, it seems like, along with his trademark mole, Lemmy should have "Do Not Try This at Home" on his face.

Monty Python's John Cleese and Eric Idle tour for the first time

What's with Monty Python these days? Last year the British comedy troupe reunited in London. This past April they got together at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York. And later this year, they're voicing aliens in the Terry Jones-directed comedy "Absolutely Anything" (minus, of course, the departed Graham Chapman). How did it take them so long? Did it just now occur to them that the world has clamored for more ever since "The Meaning of Life" gave us our last taste of original material in 1983? Were they just waiting until they were all old enough to scare us with the idea of them all, shall we say, "pining for the fjords"?

Carrot Top brings the gift of prop comedy to Melbourne in December

Oh, for the simple days of the '90s, when comedy could come from something as simple as airline food or a crazy man holding a toilet seat with a back-massager on it. Scott Thompson, the Brevard native and former Winter Park resident who grew into the pile of red hair called Carrot Top, is returning to the Central Florida stage to relive those days of prop comedy. The Top is taking a break from his decadelong stint at the Luxor Resort and Casino in Las Vegas and dragging his trunk of visual puns to the King Center in Melbourne.

Here Come the Mummies bring funk back from dead at Plaza Live in Orlando

Listening to the radio, it's easy to get the impression that the funky spirit of Earth, Wind & Fire, The Commodores and Rufus is dead. That's because it is. But it is fortunately well-preserved. And wrapped in cloth bandages. Nashville-based Here Come the Mummies have spent the past 15 years raising the dead with their raucous, sometimes raunchy funk. With songs such as "You Gonna Eat All That" and "Booty," they keep the tone light and the horns heavy.

Lewis Black's animated rants hit Orlando

As any psychiatrist will tell you, anger needs an outlet. Judging by the way he follows that prescription, Lewis Black should be the most mentally healthy comedian alive. We haven't seen his incendiary "Back in Black" segments on Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" as often as we used to, but Black has made up for it with a robust touring schedule.
