Fall-O-Ween Fest

Fall-O-Ween Fest at Mystic Aquarium. (COURTESY MYSTIC AQUARIUM / October 10, 2013)

It's time to celebrate the spooky and not-so-spooky, and you can do that with the entire family up at Mystic Aquarium this month. Starting Oct. 19, the aquarium begins its annual Fall-O-Ween Fest. Running for two weekends, Fall-O-Ween Fest will keep the kids entertained and the parents amused. You'll be spellbound by a magician, a juggler, a California sea lion show (it's pirate-themed!), and underwater pumpkin carving. Kids can get busy with a scavenger hunt, Halloween crafts and be instantly transformed by some expert face painting (for an additional fee). The Penguins Cafe will be offering a menu of seasonal goodies. Speaking of penguins, on Oct. 19 at 9 a.m. you can run a 5K or walk two miles to help save the African penguins. Participants get free admission to the aquarium on race day, where they can visit the penguins themselves. Entry fee for the 7th Annual Penguin Run/Walk ranges from $20-$63. Visit mysticaquarium.org for all the info.
