The Gallery at Firehouse Square presents Northern Moods: Paintings of Nova Scotia, which is up through May 25. The exhibition features the work of New York artist Peter Devine, an acclaimed landscape painter. Devine, who has his roots in Connecticut, drew inspiration from American abstract-expressionists, artists whose work would prove a touchstone for him as he continued to paint. His current work fuses what Devine considers the fundamental energy of abstraction with the raw landscapes outside his studio in Nova Scotia.
