There was a time when, as an orchestra director, programming a Rolling Stones pops concert might have gotten your ass fired, or at least reprimanded. That's all behind us; Boomer concert-goers want what they want — the music they grew up with — and orchestras have kept pace. (Check out reviews of the recent traveling tribute to Jerry Garcia, featuring Allman Brothers guitarist Warren Haynes.) On Friday, the Hartford Symphony Orchestra does its Stones thing, featuring guest conductor/arranger Brent Havens and vocalist Brody Dolyniuk (who, interestingly enough, lent his vocal chops to the Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock video game a few years ago). Head to the lovely setup at Simsbury Meadows (pictured) and sway along with "You Can't Always Get What You Want" and other classics.
