Not only were Heart — the incredibly talented sister-act of Ann and Nancy Wilson and their rocking bandmates— recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, they also made Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant shed real tears back in December, during a performance of "Stairway to Heaven" at the Kennedy Center Honors ceremony. Everyone who subsequently watched that clip got choked up, creating a salty ripple effect around the world. But nobody was surprised; since forming in the early '70s up in the Pacific Northwest, Heart have long been considered the Little Led Zep, and the mutli-bazillion-selling singles "Barracuda," "Crazy On You" and "Magic Man" — even the '80s MTV staple "Alone" — proved their mettle, even as we've watched those songs get played to death on classic-rock radio. Regardless, this is a powerful live act, and they'll be at Mohegan Sun on July 4 with Jason Bonham (!) and his Zep tribute in the opening slot.
