If you grew up in the '70s and '80s, you remember Dr. Ruth Westheimer: the fast-talking, ever-smiling, diminutive sex therapist with the heavy accent, whose frank shop-talk about what goes on under the covers satisfied scores of television viewers. Until July 7, TheaterWorks presents Becoming Dr. Ruth, a play starring Debra Jo Rupp (pictured), who'll be familiar to fans of the long-running television series That '70s Show. Rupp takes the audience through Westheimer's remarkable journey to household-name-hood, including tales of her fleeing the Nazi Kindertransport and serving as a sniper in Jerusalem.
