America's troubled racial history again takes center stage at the Mark Twain House on Wednesday, when scholar Dr. W.T. Lhamon Jr., who chronicled the Minstrel Show phenomenon in his book, Raising Cain: Blackface Performance from Jim Crow to Hip Hop, lectures about racist performance traditions that stretch from the Reconstruction to today's popular music and culture. Hot Tomato's restaurant supplies the grub (and the Twain House, the wine) at 5 p.m., followed by Dr. Lhamon's talk at 5:30 p.m. It's all free.
