Mister Roberts

Mister Roberts is a realistic story about American sailors onboard the cargo vessel Reluctant toward the end of World War II. They crew is bored, but can't escape their floating prison. Drama ensues, which is amusing but also poignant. The show won the Tony Award for Best Play in 1948, back when it was still fresh material. There's a one-night-only script-reading Monday at the Westport Playhouse in honor of Veterans Day.
