Django Reinhardt is credited with more or less inventing gypsy jazz while living in Paris in the 1930s, and since then no one's done it quite as well as he did. This week there are three musical events in Fairfield County alone that pay homage to Reinhardt's unique and evocative style.

The Hot Club of San Francisco: Pairing silent film shorts of the 1930s with the music. Sun., April 22, 4 p.m. Silvermine Guild Arts Center, 1037 Silvermine Rd., New Canaan, (203) 966-5617.

Swing Du Jour: Led by Bethel violinist Howard Bujese. Sun., Apirl 22, 6 p.m. Pizzeria Lauretano, 291 Greenwood Ave., Bethel, (203) 792-1500.

Café Musette: The weekly Wednesday night gig continues unabated. Wed., April 25, 7:30 p.m. Luc's, 3 Big Shop Lane, Ridgefield, (203) 894-8522.
