Romie Porter and Holland Hamilton stood in line all day in Times Square for a chance to feel like a New York Yankee. They were two of hundreds of people who got a key to the city today.
It's all part of a new citywide public art project called "Key to the City." Artist Paul Ramirez Jonas scuplted a special key and got the thumbs up and even some personal funding from Mayor Bloomberg for the project.
25,000 people will get the keys in a special ceremony in Times Square, which will allow them to unlock secrets in 24 locations throughout the 5 Boroughs.
The locations on the scavenger hunt Include Bryant Park, the Met, the Whitney Museum, Gleason's Gym, the Brooklyn Museum, the Bronx County Courthouse, Fresh Kills park in Staten Island.
The "Key to the City project will continue through June 27.
