If you're a Congressman named Fitzpatrick and you're not having a St. Patrick's Day campaign fundraiser, it might be news.

What makes Bucks County Republican Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick's Fitzpatrick for Congress St. Patrick's Day Festival fundraiser slightly newsy is that it's not on St. Patrick's Day.

It's March 10, at Spring Mill Manor in Ivyland, Bucks County. Exactly one week before the actual holiday.

Why? Turns out that's when Philadelphia's St. Patrick's Day parade is scheduled, according to a campaign spokesperson.

Fitzpatrick supporters who want to get a one-week jump on their celebrating can pay $60 for a individual ticket to $1,000 if they want to be a St. Patrick host. Other options include the $250 shamrock sponsor and the $500 Pot O'Gold sponsor.

The campaign promises to unveil something called Mike Fitzpatricks' Shamrock Club, but they're not saying what that is until Sunday.

"Be there or you'll wish you had," it warns. Begorra!

The 8th district is generally seen as a swing district, but Fitzpatrick handily defeated his Democratic opponents in 2010 and 2012. No word yet on who might face next time.
