Bill Press must think that his readers are stupid. His Aug. 10 Room for Debate column blames John Boehner and the 113th Congress for "leaving town without doing anything" about the crisis at the border.

Allow me to educate Mr. Press that the 113th Congress consists of the House of Representatives (led by the Boehner, a Republican) and the Senate (led by Harry Reid, a Democrat). The fact is that the House didn't leave town before sending a bill to the Senate. The Democrat-led Senate had already left town, knowing full well that the House was still trying to get a bill passed, and didn't feel the need to stay in town or come back to Washington to address it.

Mr. Press' column is seriously misleading. In his normal partisan way, he made no mention anywhere, in several hundred words, that Democrats hold the majority of seats in the Senate and are as much a part of Congress as the Republicans and Boehner.
