Cellist Yo-Yo Ma makes another appearance at the Tanglewood Music Festival in Lenox, Mass., with performances Saturday and Tuesday. Saturday at 8:30 p.m. in the Koussevitzky Music Shed, Ma is the featured soloist in both Elgar’s epic Cello Concerto and “Elegy” by film composer John Williams, who conducts the evening’s program. Saturday’s concert opens with Vaughan Williams’ Overture from “The Wasps” and concludes with the bagpipe strains of Peter Maxwell Davies’ “An Orkney Wedding, with Sunrise.”

Ma, at right, joins longtime collaborator and friend, pianist Emanuel Ax, left, Tuesday at 8:30, in Ma’s fifth and final performance at Tanglewood this summer. The recital at Ozawa Hall includes Brahms’ Sonata in E-flat, Op. 120, No. 2; Beethoven’s Sonata No. 3 in A, Op. 36; and Schumann’s Fantasy Pieces, Op. 73, and Adagio and Allegro in A-flat, Op. 70.
