State wildlife commissioners to vote on bear hunt

Florida wildlife commissioners are expected to vote Wednesdayon a controversial plan to permit a bear hunt for the first time in 20 years. The vote, the first of two necessary to authorize a hunt, will follow a commission discussion with David Chanda, director of Fish and Wildlife in New Jersey, which permitted bear-hunting five years ago. Hunters in New Jersey have killed 1,866 bears since the Garden State lifted its ban on bear hunting.
