Shake Shack threw open its doors at the corner of Ohio and Rush streets on Tuesday, and threw off a bit of its mystique.
Now I love a good meal more than most and I'll cop to having made a detour to stand in line to pay a premium for the highly regarded burgers and shakes on a trip to New York once.
But I can also tell you that while the proverbial grass is greener on the other side of the fence, the greenest grass of all is almost always several fences over.
By moving into our backyard, Shake Shack becomes a little less exotic. We become just a little more generic, too.
Are there really bragging rights in being able to say Shake Shack is clogging our arteries here...
