  • Drink this: Box Lunch

    Drink this: Box Lunch
Box Lunch: At House 406, a "modern steakhouse" in Northbrook that Jennifer Eisen, former assistant to Girl & the Goat's Stephanie Izard, opened last year, the cocktails are just as polished as the cuisine. Try the Box Lunch ($12) and sate cravings for chocolate, caffeine and spirits in one scrumptious, school cafeteria-inspired drink. Consisting of dark chocolate, Licor 43, Galliano Ristretto, made-in-house Thai coffee and cream, the Box Lunch tastes similar to spiked hot chocolate or chocolate milk, with the added benefits of fresh-brewed coffee and aromatic liqueurs that strike a nice balance between bold espresso and subtler notes of vanilla, citrus and spice. But the most creative (and nostalgic) touch lies in its presentation: The drink is served in a milk carton-shaped glass with a retro, red-and-white-striped straw poking out the top. 11431/2 Church St., Northbrook, 847-714-0200, house406restaurant.com
